Rhys Swift

Weekend member of a diverse team of zookeepers and staff, responsible for the care, feeding and enrichment of various animal species in the zoo. Interact with visitors, explain exhibits and answer questions about the animals.

• Worked with children from 5-8 years of age
• Assisted staff to lead groups of children through a variety of outdoor and aquarium and zoo based activities
• Supported children by actively listening and offering encouragement
• Acted as a positive role model for campers

As a member of the select Junior Volunteer Programme, I completed 3 month rotations in each area of the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo. Working with a team, and independently, I assisted with animal husbandry tasks, cared for marine mammals, delivered tours to the public and participated in fundraising events.
