Aviation Security:

  • Issuing restricted area access passes and access control under the guidance of the Head of Aviation Security.
  • Monitor and document the performance of the security contractors to ensure they are meeting the requirements of their contracts as part of the security audit program.
  • Monitor the airlines and other agencies operating at the airport to ensure they comply with security regulations as outlined in the NASP and other relevant directions/regulations.
  • Investigate and document breaches of security and incidents and report them in writing to the Head of Aviation Security.
  • Support coverage in the Security Operations Center when SOC Officers are on leave and it creates business continuity concerns.


Airport Emergency Planning and Coordination:

  • Assist the Head of Aviation Security in developing and maintaining the Airport Emergency Plan, ensuring integration of such a plan with international requirements, airline emergency procedures, and community diaster plans whilst liaising with other Bermuda Government officials for the purpose of discussing, negotiation, and implementation of those emergency plans.
  • Assist with Head of Aviation Security with planning, maintaining, and equipping the airport Emergency Coordination Center (ECC) in times of emergency.


Aviation Safety:

  • Assist with developing and maintaining the Air Terminal building in cooperation with Airport agencies, carriers and tenants,
  • Assisted in developing and maintaining procedures for removing disabled aircraft from the airport runways and taxiways consistent with internationally recommended practices.


Administration and Associated Duties:

  • Documented the issuance of restricted area passes in accordance with the OTAR guidelines.
  • Collected, collated and disseminates statistical and other information in respect to airport security operations and incidents.
  • Colleted and collated Threat Image Projection (TIP) data from the various X-ray machines in use at the Airport to assist the Head of Aviation Security in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports.
