Company Overview: 9+ stores island wide, Marketplace provides Bermuda with everything from grocery to bulk, appliances and budget items. They have over 400 staff with locations all over the island.
Developed and created a bookkeeping manual for the individual training for bookkeeping at the Marketplace. There was no formal manual, so I took the notes from my training and developed a document that is now used by the training coordinator.
Recorded daily transactions such as incoming and outgoing payments, sales and expenses into GP.
Posting transactions to the correct accounts and ensuring financial records are accurate for both receivable and payable.
Input all invoices into GP.
Counting the daily cash intake and preparing both BMD and USD for the bank deposits and security pick up. Reconciling the recorded intake and cash to ensure the balance is correct.
Safeguarding the safe. Ordering sufficient coins/change for the store and ensuring the reimbursement to the bank. Logging all outgoing and incoming cash to and from the store.
Cleaning cashier trays and ensuring the cashiers’ trays are ready for the next day.
